After spending most of the day at Poda, we finished off with a 40 minute evening session around the salt museum at Pomorie. The highlight was finding a new species of damselfly, a Dark Spreadwing, in the grassy area along the shore of the saltpans. I only managed a couple shots before it was off, but I had more success with a repeat visit the following day. Instead I will overload this post with Avocet photos (include my first juvenile photos), and a few Black-winged Stilt photos — two species for which the site provides great photographic opportunities, especially on a still evening when there is nice light reflecting off the water.
Other birds noted were 3 Little Tern, a handful of Common Tern, hundreds of Sandwich Tern, 7+ Mediterranean Gull, Black-headed Gulls, Yellow-legged Gulls, and near Pomorie Beach on the walk back to the hotel, a Crested Lark. Here are my record shots of the Dark Spreadwing:
