Here are a few more images of Scarce Fritillary from the final site we visited in the Suha Reka. We counted 75+ individuals along the track, most settling and puddling on the ground. Occassionly one would pose at the base of a tree or bush, and once or twice even on a plant. This is a very localised butterfly in Bulgaria, known mainly from a scattering of woodland fringes and glades in the north of the country.
